Dancing white guy brings about world peace?

I can’t decide if I hate this guy or love this guy. Does the fact that a chewing gum company paid for his world travel and not his trust fund change anything? Discuss.

A meeting of the minds

Mayor Daley and Pete Wentz unite to put Chicago on the fashion map! I know Andy Garrett must be sad he doesn’t work at city hall anymore.

Gotta dance

Cyd Charisse died yesterday.

She starred most famously in the “Broadway Melody” portion of Singing in the Rain, easily the strangest sequence of easily the greatest of the MGM movie musicals. Her rather decisive entrance comes shortly after the four-minute mark of this clip:

Charisse and Gene Kelly are electrifying; it’s barely-PG-worthy suggestiveness at its sultry best. Those were the days–if they ever make a Miss Saigon movie, I guarantee that, R rating aside, it won’t be half this sexy. (Though they may give the female characters a few LINES to go with their leggy outfits…)

Why are you voting Republican?

I’m voting Republican because I don’t want know if the food I’m eating has been genetically modified or exposed to radiation. So, if the label says its food- that’s good enough for me.”

NEWSFLASH: This guy has never “seen the Internet”

I know you would never guess it to look at him, but this religion professor from the University of Chicago claims to have never “seen the Internet.” It’s true, I read it in this interview.

Meh Joke Monday

not hillary duff

I really hate to be the guy who is posting what is now the third Democratic Presidential Candidate Related Post in a row. I hate it because it gives you readers the idea that politics matter and that I actually care about who leads my country and how they do it. Which as everyone knows is what loser geeks spend their time worrying about.*

But I saw a great cheap shot by Ellen Wulfhorst via Reuters today in an article about my second favorite power hungry woman in a power hungry pant suit.**

“My political obituary has yet to be written, and we’re going forward,” Hillary Clinton said. “It is not over ’til it’s over.”

By most accounts, it is over.

Great work there Ms. Wulfhorst. Thanks for helping us with another mediocre Meh Joke Monday.

*That isn’t really true…I do care about the country. Just thought it’d be fun to screw with Meghan and Andrew. Also, loser geeks spend most of their time worrying about whether or not having an Star Wars Imperial tattoo actually classifies you as badass.
**Clinton’s got nothing on my girl Janet Reno.
